Man I love that call...lol... the best colors on this earth go Boise State...

going to have to try the wire inlay... I've seen your calls with that and wondered how that was done... know I know... much better than doing stone inlay and having to sand your finger tips away...lol...

Very nicely done David! I know it took a good bit of effort to photograph, and document your tutorial. We all thank you.  Look at how many folks you just helped with your unselfish act. You've enabled them to move to another level in their call making and encouraged them to try some new things.  The site is better off for it.  You are a class act.  Thank you!

This has been quite "eye opening" for me! Now that I know this, I have a new respect for the calls made this way. I can see how this concept can be applied in many ways... Only question, what diameter bore would you suggest for the tenon to fit in? Thanks for the post, you guys keep me guessing!~Andre

I use a 3/4 tennon and bore on the barrel, and a 1/2 inch on the insert for mine.

Hey, Great tutorial, I saved it to my favorites a long time ago when you first posted it!  Anyways I was wondering, do you drill your insert after turning the tennon on the call with the lathe?  Or previous to the whole method?  I couldn't figure out wich you did on ur tutorial it seems to me that you would turn the tennon while it was on the lathe before doing the glue up just incase it might be a tad off center the next time, and if you drill previously why dont you use a mandrell?   Thanks, Travis
