I think I have said this before a couple of times, but I have to say to again you do a have a good design.

Did you check that tung oil out?  Varnish, lacquer or poly?

Nice calls. I like the shape. It is pleasing and enough different form anything I have seen that it is definately yours. I'm still struggling with finding "my" shape. I like the colors of that aspen. Pretty stuff.

Nice looking calls.  I am going to have to check into some locust one day.  I like the look of it.

And a few more

Bubinga, Cocobola & Birdseye Maple

Unknown wood that was given to me.  Was very hard and ended up really nice.

And some more Walnut.

The first 4 were from wood a walnut tree that I got a couple pieces from.  A friend had told me they had torn it down and where they had hauled it to.  He failed to mention that the walnut was the first one dumped and then covered with cedar trees.  After seeing this and how big the walnut tree was, I took my ATV (with winch) up and pulled the cedar trees off the top and got a few chuncks of the walnut.

Al, about 3 years ago my brothers were cutting down part of a shelter-belt that was planted by us (as helpers) in the mid 60's.  The trees were Honey Locust, Russian Olive, Cedar & Sandhill Plum.  I grabbed the chainsaw & cut several chunks of all of it.  The locust became my favorite wood in a short amount of time.  It is a very hard wood with beautiful grain.  It seems to attract the worms for some reason.  You will darn sure learn tool sharpening as you turn it.

Off all the calls shown the Bubinga, Cocobolo & Birdseye Maple is the only purchased wood.  All of the other is with the help of the chainsaw.  The aspen came from close to the cabin in CO.  Can someone tell me what the really dark jagged line is that shows on the 3rd call in that pic?
