Beale Buffing system
« on: March 09, 2019, 03:36:55 PM »
So I ordered a new beale 3 step buffing system for my lathe a few weeks ago, and I'm becoming very disappointed in it.  I thought maybe with it being new it just needed to be broke in. When I use it at the recommended speed, it throws cotton string everywhere, and I mean everywhere. After several uses, this problem remains. Is this normal break in?  Is there something else I should be doing?  I'm getting tired of picking cotton strings not only out of my calls, but out of my hair, ears, clothes...you name it

You need a buffing wheel rake.

Apply the rake to the wheel until they quit shedding then apply your compound.
