Thanks everyone. I forgot to tell the woods so from the top. Big leaf maple burl, the small one is around 3 inches wide and a 1/16 thick. 2nd is spalted maple stump, 3rd is quilted maple with walnut lid, 4th is cedar with malachite inlay (15 inches wide), 5th is walnut ( about 10 inches wide and 3/16 thick, 6th is red elm burl. Braz, if you ever make it up to Iowa, I will give you some tips and help you turn one and anyone else who would want to is more than welcome.

Super nice work !
Was the end grain bowl as hard to do as they say it is ? That's got to take a sharp tool and a light touch !

Now that was funny.

Nice looking bowls. My favorite is the lidded vessel.

Ha Ha got ya ;D ;D ;D. Curmudgeon, That is not on end grain bowl, it was a burl that I turned natural edged. I have turned some end grain bowls and they aren't to bad to turn, you just have to make different cuts then you would a regular bowl. I use my hollowing tool on them and cut from the center out. I just like the look of facegrain better.   Ryan
