all wood bugle
« on: May 03, 2016, 07:59:15 PM »
Has anyone ever made or even seen an all wood bugle?
I have an awesome picture in my head of making one....i know that all the bugles I have ever seen have been expandable tube type, but i'm not sure I see any reason not to make an all wood one?

give me your thoughts...what i'm thinking is making one solid wood and then for the mouthpiece i'll configure it like a tube call....it will be a little heavier than the flex tubes, and not as "durable", but for the right guy i think it would be a sweet call.

I made a turkey gobble tube a couple years ago, and crushed it in my bag the second time out with it. :(  Big, thin walls are hard to be nice to when in rough terrain. Making one out of horn would be much more durable.  I am interested to see what you come up with.
