This howler started as an idea back in 2012. I selected a horn, then roughed in the carving of a coyote stalking a hen pheasant. That's as far as I went. I then layed the horn on my bench where it sat for 4 years. Many the time I picked it up, only to put it back down. Just did not have the desire to work on it?
This week I finally picked it up again determined to see it through. I started carving on the coyote first. That completed, I moved on to the hen pheasant. Things just began to fall into place. Completing the horn, I turned a new delrin toneboard to replace the walnut one I had originally made for the howler. So finally after 4 long years I can call this howler done.
I cannot explain why I put it off? Call it lack of desire? "Procrastination?" Who knows? Anyway, "Thanks for looking".
