Fin and Feather Expo - Reelfoot October 10th & 11th
« on: August 05, 2015, 08:18:18 PM »

Just to make sure there is no confusion, the CCAA working call contest, call making seminars, and call makers and collectors gathering is still happening on October 9th & 10th.

Years ago, the main show the 2nd weekend in October was called the Reelfoot Lake Waterfowl Festival. It was organized by the Reelfoot Callmakers and Collectors association. That organization folded up, and so did the Waterfowl Festival. Enough call makers and collectors liked getting together that weekend, so for the last 2 years, it was a grass roots effort to keep the call show together. This year, Mike Hayes (owner of the Blue Bank Resort) is trying to revitalize the old waterfowl festival, to bring back the attendance and crowd that the show used to bring to the area. He is rebranding the show and calling it the Fin and Feather Expo. It will be melding together what the grass roots gathering has done so far this year, plus bring in a lot more advertising and publicity to the show that is being funded by the Fin and Feather Expo side of things.

So if you guys start seeing some information about the Reelfoot show and a Fin and Feather Expo on the same weekend at the same place (Blue Bank Resort), just know that they are the same show and all of the activities planned up to this point are still happening. We are just calling it a different name now and there will be a lot spent on advertising and publicity. There will be a website created for the event and each vendor will be showcased on the website leading up to the Expo. I will share the website info as soon as it is ready. The Fin and Feather Expo will be both October 10th & 11th. And will feature both waterfowl and fishing items. There's already over 30 vendors signed up, with more being added to the list every day. This is going to be a great show, so don't miss out!

You won't get money rich in this hobby.  The richness is in the culture, the craft, the friends you meet along the way, and being able to call in a wary game animal with a call that you made with your own hands.
