« on: December 28, 2013, 03:21:17 PM »
i am new to call making but I am an avid turkey hunter. the reason I am wanting to get into call making is because I have so many ideas how I want a call to sound so I want to try and make my own. can anyone give a list of tools I need to get started. your idea of just very basic bare minimum stuff I need to start making pot calls. I have viewed the tutorials but I am not getting many ideas on tools, ie: types, names, uses. things like that. thanks for any help!!!

Hi and welcome to the site!

You can start with this tutorial written by one of the Admins here, BigB.

http://thogamecalls.com/thogamecalls_006.htm

At the top of the call making section, you will see the Custom Call Makers Resource Area.   There are a number of tutorials and other information that will help you out.   There are usually some post at the top of each forum on making that particular kind of call.

I hope that gives you a start, but there are a lot of call makers here who will chime in and really get you going.

Your location would also help, you might have someone close that can kind of mentor you.
