Bocote closed reed
« on: October 16, 2008, 11:34:24 AM »
I have been layed up the past 2 weeks with peripheral vertigo but last night I felt pretty good so I tried some turning, not to bad for seeing double at times. I have not put any finish on it yet and it is voiced cottontail.

Thanks for looking Dan.

You can always tell a guy who spends some time hunting  - that call is shaped just perfectly to fit between your fore finger and thumb and let you use your last three fingers to manipulate the sound.  The bigger palm area will also add to the comfort of using it.  I like it!  Yeah, not bad for seeing double - but, if you are seeing double - how come you didn't turn two   ;D

Just a nice job all the way around.  And bocote is such a nice wood not only to work with, but for fine woodturning too.

Again, nice looking call and a great job all the way around.
