Jeepers this took awhile

This howler still isn't finished but I tought I'd show it. The howler is ash covered in Suede, I have some trimming to do and maybe some decoration not sure. But it feels good in my hand. I used suede because of the stretch it has. Oh yeah it is a deer skin split suede. With age it will darken and get smooth from handeling. What do you guys think?

Interesting concept - what does the suede do to the sound of the call?  Do you notice any difference in that and one not covered?

No difference. The inside is still wood. The leather only rolls over the end.

Now is that call sealed inside & out before the suede goes over it? Just wondering out loud about moisture issues is all.

     Yeah it is sealed. I dipped it in polycrylic. Not only did it seal the call it will hold the leather. But boy talk about trying to get it done without getting the leather all sticky. I gave it a dip then let it dry. I did that twice then the third dip I applied the leather. The next one I may try using leather lace to hold it on and it could be removeable as well.
