I've been playing around with inlaying the flutes, and here is a hedge open reed call I just finished up. I made a mold off of one of my toneboards, and this is the first toneboard out of the mold. I'm really pleased with how it turned out and it sounds darn good.

Really nice. love the flutes.

The band and inlay are cast onto the blank. I tried to mix some sawdust into 2 ton epoxy for the inlay, but when I tried to turn it smooth, I'd get all sorts of air bubble that would show up. It didn't look very good, and I spent a year trying to figure out a way to get the air bubbles out.

Well hard work and determination makes a great looking call

That is a cool lookin call. Nice job. A few years ago I molded some predator toneboards. I had the same problem with bubbles. Unlike you I just gave up. I should revisit them sometime.

Class right there.
I have been eyeballing the smooth on products for a bit. I just have not had time to dive into molding stuff yet. Id would be interested in hear more about the molding process you used. Or if you could point me in the direction of some info.
