Title: 2014 Easton Maryland Wolrds Final Rounds
Post by: stumpjumper on November 24, 2014, 09:39:17 AM
Here are all the final rounds of this past weekend's winners.
I hope that as you watch these, you can appreciate not only the callers abilities but the abilities of the calls.  This is what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Thanks guys...but the reason I am posting these videos is in hopes of guys hearing what happens on the stage.  Alot of people have never been to a contest.  If anyone has any questions about what's going on, format, routines, judging calls etc.feel free to ask.

Mr. Stump, I have a quick question.... What is the difference between World Goose and World Live goose? They both sound the same to me so I'm kinda confused.  Sorry for the dumb question!

Never a dumb question....well some are, but not this one

World goose has a structured routine that the callers must adhere to.  Callers must blow the "Hail" call, followed by the "Come On" call, then the "Come Back" call and
finally, the "Confidence" call of the Canada Goose.
This is normally a 90 sec routine

World Live Goose is about sounding like a real goose normally on the ground in a field.   Callers are judged on realism and variety of sounds.
This is a 60 sec routine

Now go back and listen to the videos again and you'll definitely hear the difference in the routines.

Anytime!  Heck, get up at a local contest and give it a try someday.  It`ll open a new world of calling to you.....

I still got a ways to go before going to ANY kind of contest. I still can't figure out how they make sounds like that.....
