Ok with bead blasted glass which side do you use for the playing surface? Bead blasted side or smooth side up?

I am not a pot call maker, but I think I know the answer here, bead side up, that is what gives you the friction surface for the striker.

No such thing as a dumb question I was always taught. Bead blasted side up. I've foound many on this forum who are more than happy to help out!

Yup, bead blasted side up, for friction.  Personally I think that you still need to condition the glass with sandpaper or a carborundum stone to get a good playing surface but many folks use the blasted surface on its own.

The first time I used blasted glass I thought I was doing something wrong.  Could not get a sound worth a darn.  I also condition the blasted surface.
