some of my work
« on: April 09, 2011, 08:02:55 PM »
I have been on this forum watching, learning and enjoying the posts and pics here for a while now and wanted to share some pics of my work. The calls I make are made of either Cherry, Maple, Walnut, Ash or Oak simply because that is what is easy for me to get. These are some of my grunt calls. I have done some in packaging  but only for donations to youth feild days and charity auctions.

Thanks guys.   As for the packaging, the clam shells are from Grassy Creek the cards in them are a joint effort of my wife and I.

Good looking work.  With packaging like that, I assume you've got your calls on display at some local retailers in your area?

Not yet. I did the packaging mainly to have something to protect them when I donated  some to the Sportsmans youth program for their prizes and recently when asked to donate for a auction to benefit a local cancer patient. I didnt waist packaging with most of the calls I have given away or sold, which has been by word of mouth so far, because most people wanted to try them out. Thinking about trying a retailer later this with the grunt and squirrel calls.

They look great! Wondering what you do to make your cards (inserts) looks like you have some rounded corners?

My best guess is it's called scissors.

They do have rounded corners and I did try scissors which didn't always go well. Turned out my wife has a paper punch for doing crafts which rounds corners.

My best guess is it's called scissors.

I would not have thought someone would use scissors to cut a bunch of them.

Thanks for the idea. I'm sure that I'll be using that idea.
