Aluminum strikers??

I just ran across a listing for 12' long 3/8" diameter aluminum rod for a buck a piece. Do you guys thunk that would make good striker pegs or would it be to big in diameter?

The diameter isn't an issue... you can turn it down on your lathe. As for being a good material to use... someone else would have to chime in with that answer.

The one's I've seen, they were less than 1/4", and I sure didn't like how they sounded, or how they performed.  Not to say it couldn't be done though!

I've seen some out of aluminum arrows (hollow) that I liked more.
