I got my order today from hut so I had to go try th new wood these 2 are color wood and purple heart.

I am glad that I started on calls first. HaMeR I dont think you have anything to worry about I got a long way to go

I am glad that I started with the calls first to learn the lathe and how the wood reacts with what cutter you can only bull on a pen a little and stuff flys apart and calls you can bull right through it to get it roughed in. then the finishes that I learned through the calls helped alot I don't believe that one is easier than the other once you do either it is the artist in each person that shows some people are better diffrent things. ;D

Ebony is a bit fragile. On the upside of that tho is that it loves a sharp tool & light cuts. A little skew work & it's ready to sand with 320.  ;D
