spalted maple calls
« on: November 28, 2010, 10:39:43 AM »
I though I would show a picture of some of the calls I have made from the wood I got from Justin.  It is all made out of spalted figured maple.  Very nice wood and I will be buying more soon hopefully he will still have some for sell.  The top 4 calls are all wood duck with the one on the far right having a coco mouth peice.  The bottom 4 calls are all closed reed predator.  Thanks for looking.

John those are great looking calls!  Did you have the wood stabilized or was it hard enough that it didn't need it?

I asked the same question before I bought any of it and I was very happy with how hard this wood was.  You could not tell that it was spalted it was as hard as any other wood I have ever turned.
