The gutsert is from webfoot and the guts are from shellcreek. Thats all I run in my goose calls , that combo seems to work the best.  Troy

Very nice looking call!  Let me get this straight.... was this regular Curly Maple and you dyed it blue?  I'm a little confused on that.  That is a cool look!  What kind of dye did you use?

How did you dye the wood? I am trying to make a birdseye call with the blue dye but I have never dyed anything. I bought the Luxor dye from woodcraft, and just trying to get this one done for my new baby nephew for his first duck call. Any help wood be appreciated. Thanks

For the  first part the dye was $ 97.00 for a quart. You could do hundreds of calls with that amount of dye.  The second part is I use a small foam brush and use some 50/50 dye, lacquer thinner. Then come back with some full strength dye wiping with a cloth till you get the color you like . Need to leave it dry for a day or so, then I use a C/A finish. 15 coats of thin  and then micro mesh to 12,000. Troy
