Apple wood
« on: September 27, 2010, 09:22:52 AM »
I finished a couple of Apple wood deer calls this weekend, these have the adjustable tone boards (some of Al's or my own) to change the sound from mature buck to fawn bleats for versatility in the field. The tone can be further manipulated by hand placement, cupping or opening the hands over the bell (similar to using a duck call) to quiet or deepen the tone.  This apple wood had some birds eye and sapwood, somewhat rare to find it like this with the birds eye figuring although I have seen it before. Thanks for looking, Dave
