Finishing Techniques From a Professional
« on: July 10, 2008, 03:24:43 PM »
No it is not from me ;D

It is from Russ Fairfield a woodturner than many turners consider to be one of the best.  His website is very interesting and covers a wide range of subjects.

When you have questions about finishing a call this is a great location to find the quick answer.  I used to keep all kinds of notes on what worked on what kinds of woods, and all kinds of other notes but after I found the Internet I stumbled onto this site.  Now most of my notes are history and I keep this site handy for quick references to finishes.  I have it printed out and in a notebook in my shop, my biggest problem with it is finding the notebook.

Lots of info there to confuse me even more.  ;D  Thanks Marvin it looks like a great place to get ideas and try things. I'm sure I'll spend alot of time there reading.

Yep, Russ is great. I have been using his info for a number of years. Great stuff there. Those penturners really know their stuff and can really impart some valuable info to those of us working with wood.
