Some of wcbillcollector's dark osage
« on: September 19, 2010, 10:46:13 PM »
wcbillcollector kindly sent me a few pieces of the dark-colored osage orange that he recently came across.  It was a very kind gesture, so I figure the least I can do is make him a call from it.  The stuff has some dark spots, light spots and is much darker than the stuff I'm used to around here.  It actually has one spot that reflects the light like a hologram....Nifty.  I pinned the band with three pins.  The brass band needs a little more polishing and then it'll be on its way to Texas.    Hope you like your call Tobin.

Its not often that I see a call and my jaw drops.  But OH MY LORD (need new BIG smiley here Al)    I simply LOVE hedge!!!!!  Heck I`ve had birds lit in the spread and didn`t see them cause I was drooling over a hedge call glistening in the sun (yes it`s happened...more than once).  And that has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of hedge I have ever seen....Ok I gotta go lay down now.  That call simply knocked me for a loop

Fair's fair, Randy!  I'm the same way...Definitely like to recognize generosity when some of it comes my way.  The way I look at it, Tobin OBVIOUSLY fried his chainsaw's chain on that stuff from the burning in the cuts.  So at least a couple new calls should help make him feel better about that.

Thanks you guys so much for YOUR generosity.  I'm very very excited to be recieving calls from both of you guys more than words can describe  :thanks:, and those marks are from Robert A's super duper table saw.  I certainly need to get him a new blade especially after the "COPELAND OUTDOOR ADVENTURE" he went on this weekend .  Just ask him about our teal hunt this weekend .  Once again thank you all, and if you need anything just HOLLA.

 :thanks:
Tobin

I'm kind of scared to ask what the deal is with a table saw that makes burn marks that bad!   :pot:
