antler keeper ???

Three things come to mind.

A turned part where the cord comes together on a lanyard.  (Called a lanyard keeper).

Or, a cord to keep your rattling horns together. (though I would call it a rattling antler keeper)

Or, a cord to collect sheds on while you are shed hunting. (though I would call it a shed keeper, and wouldn't plan on it being used by many)

 :2up:  Sounds like option #1 then.

A lanyard keeper made out of antler. 

I'm not a pro lanyard maker, but my thought on the reason for a keeper, is that it is an easy and decorative way to cover up ugly knots that need to be knotted big and tight, and possibly glued to keep everything together for a long time.

Sometimes it's a do-dad to dress up a long string of knot work and helps to weigh down the front of the lanyard  :rofl:

Seriously it does help to transition from the neck loop to the front lower drops.. I think it is a bit dressier and if the customer makes his own keeper it is a personal touch that is hard to beat  :bigup:
