Can't today, the entire area around Ruidoso, NM is under burn ban.  All we can cook outside with is propane, no charcoal or wood fired smokers, fine is $500 and appeal of ignorance is worthless.  Will make a trip to one of the local carry out eateries, they have the bets BBQ in Lincoln county to go along with the fixings that we have made.  Potato salad, jalapeņo pinto beans, coleslaw and fresh blueberry cobbler.  That should be enough to keep us in food for the rest of the weekend.you guys that are on

For you guys that are on the Texas coast in that heat and humidity, Ruidoso is now 70 degrees with a light breeze.  You got to love these Texas playgrounds.

We get the burn bans up here in ny too. I found a fix though I built a smoker to do my chicken and pork loins in it uses a burner similar to the propane turkey cookers with a chip pan about 6inches above it works perfect start it in the morning cook at 200 degrees for 4+ hours and supper is done.
