Now this is one ugly color

My uncle's granddaughter (my cousin's daughter) is 18 months old and loves to play with his duck call.  He recently requested that I make her a pink duck call just for fun.  

In my quest to not have to purchase 48" of pink acrylic I was lucky enough that Al sells little chunks of the stuff at the THO store.  

So, here it is.  It is a shame that pink is such an awful color because this thing sounds great.  I used a Gouldman band that is anodized a lipstick red color.  This color was a challenge to photograph, and it doesn't look as pink or as clear in the picture as it actually is.

I'm secure in my masculinity so I may just have to make myself one.

I think if you shoot a pic of the call with a white background the color would look more pink than red. Either way the call looks great!!

   Looks like it turned out great to me!

I used pink highlighters all through college, because all the other guys just couldn't bring themselves to use pink......so they bought their 3 or 4 packs, and I got all the pinks.  I'm not trying to compensate for anything.  I've got pink highlighters, calls, lures, shirts........ain't gonna bother me a bit.

I've been at home all day watching my twin 7 month old boys while my wife worked a 12 hour shift...

The PINK call is sitting on the entertainment center waiting to get boxed up and shipped...

My boys have been gazing longingly at it all day because it is the brightest thing in the room, wishing they could walk and stand so they could get to it.  One sat there and cried, reaching for it. 

Going to have to do something about their attraction to pink.  I'm thinking that my boys need custom calls of their own, made by their dad, to commemorate the year of their birth.  They may not appreciate them for a long time, but they'll be able to have fun with them in a matter of a few months.  I'm thinking blue acrylic will be more appropriate than pink though. 

My uncle is thrilled to get the pink call.  He's hoping that he can use it to excite his granddaughter about going hunting with grandpa in a few years.  Hope it works.

That is a cool color. It turned out very well. If you dont like it, just send me your extra stock A black band would be a great addition.

Here's my cousin's daughter Kali with her new pink duck call.  I hear she's quite the little noise maker, and that the call is staying at Grandpa's since he's the one responsible for procuring it.
