stole this piece out my brothers fire wood pile we cut from my sisters house last yr...some kind of oak..with spalting....slate over glass

Nice peice of wood there and wonderful looking call. I rummaged through my grandmas firewood stacks the other day and came up with some mulberry and spalted sycamore.
