Rough day in the shop
« on: February 02, 2008, 07:33:25 PM »
Well, did my shipping this morning, and then decided to turn a few calls.

Got me a real pretty piece of stabilized buckeye burl out, drilled it and stuck it on the lathe.

Got it turned down and there was a split 3/4 of the way through the blank from top to bottom.

Drilled a piece of stabilized spated oak, put it on the mandral and it split in half.  Hnnnnn

Drilled another piece of stabilized bukey burl, turned it and was getting ready to final sand it.   Took it off the mandral. and set up the blind mandral.  Slid the call on and the end chipped off.

Just got back from Blockbuster.  Rented a couple good movies.

Somedays it pays to take some time off LOL

OH YEA, do I relate to that. Yep, a couple of good movies is the answer.

My wife and I are at our son's house babysitting our 2 month old granddaughter.  I get her when she is in a good mood, the wife takes over when she is cranky, best part about being the grandpa.  The rest of my time is playing with the laptop.
