I guess I've learned my lesson in buying pre-bought pen kits! The guy must of had a good laugh at the mess he sold me. Almost every kit is short pieces. They aren't correctly identified (so TRY getting the right bushings!) I just had to canabalize three 'kits' to get one pen put together. Some people oughta be shot! From now on it's direct store purchases only.... unless the person lives in shooting distance  :-X

Sounds like he found a way to get rid of something he didn't want. I don't blame ya for being mad. I hate it when you get something that isn't right. It takes all kinds I guess. Maybe you can sell him a finished pen "Empty".  ;D  Even the score.  ;D

Is it one of the retailers from penturners?  If it is I am sure the seller will correct it.  I have always had great service from the sellers that are listed on penturners.

It had been an individual on there. Just a case of buyer beware. It wasn't like I saved all that much buying the kits like that. I've never had ANY problem getting parts replaced if bought retail. At least I was able to finally get this pen done. Supposed to be spalted zebra wood, this WAS a blank bought through that site, and well worth it's price......

Annie,

The pen did turn out nicely, but if it took three kits to complete one pen, I think I would be contacting the person that sold me the kits.  I am still waiting to give pens a try - have the kits and bushing, but when I get time to turn I want to make calls more than I want to try something new.

You deserve to rant.  You also deserve some kudo's on a beautiful pen.   You know, I seem to remember not that long ago when you were just getting started - you have come a long long ways in a short time.  Your skills as a wood turner are amazing and seem to be getting better every day.
