Really nice looking calls! Funny how some woods have so many names....bois d ark, osage orange, horse apple, etc..... but a pretty yellow no matter the name.

Wow, I wish I could make duck calls that looked that good. Those look great. Of course, you did use one of my favorite woods, so maybe that is influencing me just a bit. Very nice calls.

When you say 10th and 11th call, do you mead just today, or just this week or what?. If those are your really just your 10th and 11th call ever, I'd say you were WAY ahead of the game most of us played. Hand made stoppers are quite an accomplishment and you ought to be congratulated for the excelent work.

Thanks for the kind words.  Cur, when I say 10th and 11th, I mean 10th and 11th ever. Now I did screw up a few pieces of wood before I got it figured out. I number all my calls, but they are numbered as I finish them. Plus I got lucky ;D!!!

Nice looking calls. I don't make duck calls so I will be one with questions when I decide to try it. Because I know nothing about them I have to ask even if I sound like an idiot. Where is the reed? Is it like a enclosed reed or something?  Now quit laughing guys and tell me.  ;D

Thanks for the nice words, from everbody.
John, the only stupid question is the one not asked.
The reed is not enclosed, it is facing down in the pic. Sorry, but I don't have  a profile pic of a toneboard as of now. I will try to get one tonight or tomorrow and post it.

Here is a link to a pic of a side view. This is not my call. I just grabbed it off of google.

Ok, I guess the wood is part of the board? Looks like you make great calls and only doing 11 is amazing. Are you going to post pictures in the man cave? Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks
John

I will try to take some pics tonight, but my man cave is also my truck cave. I have to back my truck out of the garage to work on calls. My lathe is probably older than I am, and I have no idea who made it, when it was made or anything else about it. It has a 1/2 hp motor that I had to replace (with probably an older motor) and only one speed. I have no clue what the speed is, but it works. Maybe I can sell some calls and upgrade to a jet mini.

Thanks
Neel

You're not alone Neel. I bought my lathe on ebay and it has no name on it. I have no idea who made it "probably china". It was new and the shipping cost more than the lathe.  ;D But when I put wood in it, it turns so I figure it's good enough.
