If you think it is too much, I would experiment with cutting out a step, let cut out the 7/8 or cut out the 3/4. More than anything, watch your guts in the barrel and make the barrel as small as you can on the inside without having the guts touch the side of the barrel. Not saying that WILL give you the best sound, but it will allow you to use the least amount of air to fill the chamber, and still let the guts run properly.
If you are running a 'local guy' set of guts, I would ask him what kind of barrel configuration will work best for his guts. They are usually very nice about helping out, because that way they can sell you more guts later.
