does anyone know if yellow poplar would make good box calls? had some give to me thought i would try to make one

Yes it does. It will make a bit higher pitched box but it will sound good. I have made a few long boxes recently with it and it is awesome sounding. I have a few more in the work too so don't be afraid go for it. :bigup:

 :up1:  And try adding a dense-wood lid to a poplar box, like purpleheart for example.
