I went SLOW when things started chipping out on me. 

I showed this call to my brother yesterday and blew it for him.  Now he needs one too.   :D

 One thing in noticed about turning acrylic was that there is definitely a "sweet spot" on the angle of your tool where it contacts the acrylic. I cut most of mine with a round nose scraper, but I keep it sharp. Probably the worst thing a guy can do when turning acrylic is keep the tool flat on the tool rest. I'll have to take a picture or too to explain, as reading this post over confuses me too ;D
