here is a finish..

KRYLON   :gunsmilie:

Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray.

Something you might want to (try and find)  - sherwin williams store perhaps.

drawback of course is having a dust free place to spray it.

Very clear, hard. Buffable.
Dries FAST.

discuss. (or not!)

Hmmmm, me too!  Haven't seen it but wouldn't mind trying something like that.

I have a sherwin williams store in town. I will try to get by there to see if they have it. Only problem I have had with the spray stuff is getting the inside of the calls. Even on turkey pots it seems hard to get the inside covered all the way through. Im still not a good dipper but Im working on it.

I'm wondering if its available outside of a spray too.

I see now it is not.  So, I'm interested to know what types of undercoats it would be compatible with.

A can on Amazon is 4 bucks.

Maybe only dewaxed shellac for an undercoat.
Possibly, a completly dry CA/BLO.

Speaking of dipping, I have another product to try.....

Future Floor Finish. Also an acrylic based thing, I think.  viscosity is real thin, be that good or bad.  need to find the bottle to type the exact name..
can spray it with an airbrush, if that applies.

These are finished with the Krylon Acyrlic.  Over a CA and BLO finsih that was applied on the lathe.
And then Buffed with a Beall setup.

cant say I photo'd them to show the finish as mcuh as just a general photo for the customer.

:2up:  No doubt those look good!  Have you done any testing on the durability of this finish?
