Looks like you have been busy. I haven't tried any turkey calls yet. I would like to try making one of those new open reeds for turkeys.

First I like the chestnut sides - walnut middle and paddle. Walnut paddle on poplar is also doing it . Most of theses calls are 6" body 2" tall and 1 1/8 wide at top. I like a slim line box that is compact to carry and sounds good. I'll be in the woods this morning with that cedar/walnut one hope it works ;).

Hello Jeff,Nice work on the box calls,I see by your posting you were up early and at the birds for some fine field testing.I hope it was a good hunt morning for you.I've made few box calls recently but I liked the combo of Butternut and Cherry and also Butternut and Walnut for sound.I like the looks of your call being deep and narrow also.Once again nice work as I know the fit up on box calls is harder than it looks--

Nice looking calls JT. I can understand the fun of trying the different woods. I have fun with that myself. Most of the time t fun anyways. Someties it's frustrating.
I like the butternut sides alot but also just have a soft spot for cedar, walnut, cherry and poplar.
Great work, keep haveing the fun with them. ;D
