Finished up a few
« on: August 29, 2009, 11:28:05 PM »
And getting them shipped out.  All of these calls are going out to guys I know are good callers and duck hunters to get feed back.  I`ve heard what they say they want in the field and for the meat stage.  Once I hear back I can make any necassary changes to the sound and or design then hopefully I will be ready to offer them to the public.  You gotta walk before you can run....it be R&D season :punk: :punk:
Also I am staying with my Bad Girl Series just like with my turkey calls so these ladies get names.  If a call has 1 burn ring it is a open water, 2 burn rings it is a mid range, and 3 burn rings it is a timber.

L-R  Figured Yellowheart barrel with a laminated insert, Chekta Viga, Cherry barrel with a Padauk insert, two Bocote`s, Walnut barrel with a Cocobolo insert, and two black Cocobolo calls

I did make a set for a friend and his brother.  Unfortunitly he lost his brother recently to an unknown reason.  They are still waiting on the results.  The young man was only 26.  I tried to do these two fine guys justice with these calls.  They are made from Curly Pyinma.  One now will sit on the mantle next to a picture and not be hunted.  The world will miss you Joel.

Let me know good or bad what you think guys

Nice work Stump, you've been busy!  I like what you're doing with the band, butting it up to the wood on the barrel side.  Nice effect!  The curly pyinma is incredible...Never heard of it but I like it.  I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

I see nothing wrong with any of those calls. They all look like keepers to me.

Appreciate the comments guys.  So far everyone that has received one of the calls is giving me good feedback.  So I can breath a sigh of relief for a bit.  Next is to see how they hold up in the blind, weather, and anything else the guys can throw at them.  I want to see if and how bad they lock up in the cold.  One buddy is a bad spitter and blew his call until his lips about fell off with little issue.  You could tell the call was full of spit but he cleared it with a quick breath and the call ran fine.
So good so far....  The anticipation is driving me nuts

Very neat. I like the look of them very much. Do they all have a home?
