Spalted hickory with elk band.......

This one soaked for over a week in BLO....In a jar...with weight on top to hold it down.
All parts were pre-drilled and rough turned first as to soak all the way through......

Ok now that makes since I put on 7 coats of spray on polly and sanded with 400 between coats and it still kept drinking in the finish then I put 2 coats of the Hut finish and buffed.. Does soaking it cause the wood to swell?

I am sure it does some......but the call is only rough turned when I soak it so it all turns off anyway.
