Two more of the new design.

I have not been able to get a decent finish on these to save my life ! 95% humidity and nothing seems to want to dry right. I'll have to redo these but wanted to post up a pic while I had the chance. Spalted Hackberry from a tree blown over by hurricane Ike last September. Customer said "2 deer grunts, surprize me". What do you think ?

Those are sweet looking grunt calls there, I really like that design. One of them would look good in my collection. Need any mandrels.  :eek:   :bigup: :bigup:

Thanks for the kind words guys !
I have been having fits with these calls and have deciede to just make another set witht he same design/lines but out of cross cut cocobolo.
These two calls will not stay round and will not take a finish. I  know the wood is dry, but it's sure acting like it's wet.
Looks like these will stay in the shop for a while.

Beautiful...as for a good thing to finish with I use on grunts is Minwax Spar Urethane in the aerosol can. Its very forgiving and is water resistant and UV....can take a pretty good beating....Wally world has it.

I cannot believe I missed these 2.  Looking good, glad you jumped on board with the all wood grunt calls, they look and sound so much better than the plastic tube versions.
