I made this set of CHRISTmas tree ornaments fro my Sister to give to her Friends. She really liked them & they went over nicely when presented as gifts.

Hey HaMeR, those are nice. I really like the idea of the string for a hanger.

I made up a bunch of ornaments for gifts this year too, but forgot to take any pictures of them at all. Dumb huh?  I made these for the sister-in-laws, daughter-in-law and granddaughters. I made up about 25 all together. I wouldn't have made quite so many but my wife keep saying "Oh, I want that one", so I had to keep making them.

I also made up a bunch of bottle stoppers. These I made for my BIL's, Son"s and Grandson's. They went over quite well. I did get some pictures of them. I also sold a few with the call shaped tops.

HaMar,

I really like the snowman ornament.  That's pretty cool!

You won't get money rich in this hobby.  The richness is in the culture, the craft, the friends you meet along the way, and being able to call in a wary game animal with a call that you made with your own hands.

Thanks Braz. I had a hard time coming up with 6 designs & here you are with like 56 different ones.  ;D very creative & they all look nice. The strings & gold pieces come in a kit from pennstateindustries.com.

Thanks Brian!! I didn't have any Ebony/Blackwood for the hat so I just used a fine point Sharpie.  ;D

Curmudgeon-- I really like the looks of that call!! For only a couple weeks experience you certainly nailed that one!!  ;D
RIP Russ,Blaine,& Darrell!!

Interesting. The ornaments that I turned I also got the kits from PSI. But I didn't get the strings. Guess they like you better than me.  ;D

I usually make a bowl or something. My mother got one this year. It was a 15 X 3 spalted maple crotch with turqouise inlay. I'll post pics of some of my other bowls since I can't find the pic right now.      Ryan

Very nice work fellas and good timing on the topic as I have 2 older sisters with birthdays this summer and I am leaning towards a gift for them from the lathe and love the ideas/work shown here.

Hey, if you haven't wandered about the PSI site, you should. They have lots of kits for making all kinds of things. I'm in the process of making some pepper grinders now, with some able assistance from rwehuntn, who has a bunch of different stuff on his web site. If you haven't see it you should check it out.

You guys have some really great ideas. You guys should call HGTV and maybe get yourselves a tv show.  Nice stuff. I love this site.
