fox squirrel help
« on: June 29, 2009, 09:18:26 PM »
I was just asked for a fox squirrel call. Is there any difference in that than a gray squirrel call. I use the 005 reed? Thanks
John

I just listened to some fox squirrel sounds online and they sure don't sound like a gray. LOL   I told the guy I will check and see before I commit to making him a call he's not happy with.

  Well see, what I've been told, is what you want to do, is take the reed, and actually face the reed IN TO the barrel rather than towards the bellow.

AND IT IS AT THIS POINT IN TIME where I figure out why I thought you were INSANE about wanting to place your reeds in your callers BACKWARDS>

We're making calls for different kinds of squirrels!  Most of the sq's around here are of the fox variety!

That turned out excellent John!!
I like the way the natural outer part of the antler is well centered with the body. Nicely done.
I'm sure the guy will like it.
