A few Carved Maples..
« on: June 19, 2009, 07:16:43 AM »

I put down the cow horn and antler, and decided to carve a few Hard Maple calls.  Thanks for looking!

You say "coyote" to the average person on the street and they think mangy nasty old dog.

Your calls sure do give a noble creature some respectability by showing them in their prime.   Beautiful carvings and painting as always.   Thank you for posting them here for us.

Just amazing work. Looks more like a picture than a painting. You sure do a great job.

Thank you fellows.  Your comments Al, really hit home with me about the "noblity" of the animal.  I am glad when I am able to capture a little bit of it on a call.
Here's a mahogany call that I did this morning.  There's no paint on it, just natural wood.  It's a profile that I enjoy doing. But it sort of sums up the "noblity" aspect in my estimation.
