Deer horn Grunt call.........
« on: April 30, 2009, 03:05:35 PM »
OK guys I have been making deer calls for a long time.....I have never shown one on the Net yet.
This is the first one I have ever made with deer horn....
Buck Grunt.......6 3/4" L and 1 7/8" at the bell

A friend of mine found this shed and wanted a deer call made from it.
He trusted me to try it....  :sweatdrop:
I hope he will like it....
what do ya think?

hanks fellas...
As deer horn goes it was loud....I tried to make the bell smaller on the inside to keep this to a minimum and it sounded real good but on a calm day I would cup my hands over it some to quiet it down then it sounds GREAT!

I made a new wedge with a piece of felt on it and that seems to do the trick real well....
what I done was used a piece of 3/8" PVC pipe with a piece of 1/4" glued inside of it then cut in half leaving a 1/8" groove on the inside of  the wedge and O.D. being 1/2" I put the felt in the groove....  It done the trick!
A lot of tuning on this one but I would hunt with it any day...  :up1:
