A few recent completed calls
« on: February 27, 2009, 11:04:05 PM »

I finished up a few calls tonight, so here they are to share.

Moose antler barrel and acrylic toneboard.
Moose antler SOUND CLIP

I visited a local countertop shop and received a few scraps of corian to try out.  Here's my first attempt at a corian call.  It was relatively easy to drill and turn, and polishes really well.  I definately will be going back to the shop for some more scraps.
Corian SOUND CLIP

A burgundy dymondwood open reed

A faux green hedge open reed.  I was trying out a new finish on this one.  It was a gunstock oil finish, but I don't think I like this finish.

A canvas micarta open reed.

And I haven't made a closed reed in a while, so I spun up a couple tonight.  They are made out of burgundy dymondwood.

Thanks for looking. Any and all comments welcomed.

You won't get money rich in this hobby.  The richness is in the culture, the craft, the friends you meet along the way, and being able to call in a wary game animal with a call that you made with your own hands.

Beautiful calls. Not sure if it's on my end but I can't get the sound clips to load up.

Try the sound clips now John.  I had a few extra digits in the link that I fixed.

They all look great Brian! I'd have thought those dymondwood calls were coco if you hadn't told what they were.
