Black palm really makes a nice call but it is a bear to work with.

Nice calls.

Those are great looking calls, I love the look of palm, but refuse to use it.  Kudos for using it.

Good looking stuff.  What's the "secret" with the Black Palm? I like it but I'm hesitant to try it based on everyones troubles with it. Real cool looking calls you came up with there!

I've only made one call so far with it and it worked fine for me. Keep the tools sharp and it turns just fine. CA glue to fill the grain then finished it, looks and works great. I'll use it again!

I found the best way to work with black or red palm is using a bastard file. Its slow work but the end results are always nice. For a really cool look, try turning a call going across the grain.
