I have one in 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" and love them.

EDIT: I mis-read the original post. I use to have a 5/8" with 2MT taper, but now I have the ones I mentioned with straight bars that I use with the collet chuck. Much easier to use than the one with the MT. As Marvin indicates, you need a draw bar for full capabilities.

Are they fitted with a draw bar?  Steel or brass?

I'd like to see some pictures of what you have in mind to make.  There's lots of folks looking for other ways to skin a cat.

Bobcat is pretty good chicken fried, I don't recommend house cats, usually too much fat on them.  House cats do make decent tamales if you spice them up quite a bit, I think that and dog is what Gerhard's uses for meat in their tamales.

Are they knurled at the location where the call barrel contacts the mandrel?

Do you have any pics of them?

Thanks,
Brian
You won't get money rich in this hobby.  The richness is in the culture, the craft, the friends you meet along the way, and being able to call in a wary game animal with a call that you made with your own hands.

The Mandrel pictured sure looks like a solid piece of tooling. With the wider expansion slit I would think it would expand more than the 2 thousands I've seen on another expanding mandrel, which I didn't like.I'd prefer a set-up to slide into my Collet Chuck or even my Nova Chuck while they're mounted though.

I might be interested. The MT 2 isa good idea as long as it has the draw bar. What kind of price range are we talking here?
