Kids duck call - need ideas
« on: March 05, 2018, 09:47:03 PM »
Been making calls about 5 years.  Starting to get a reputation.  Need to make a call for a friend's young son, about 2 years old.  Don't know if I should scale down a call, or make the boy something he can use when he grows up. Looking for ideas.

A custom call for a two year old? I’d make it a plain call with a  durable finish and probably use an o ring to help prevent loss of the insert.
Definitely put a date on it, so if it survives childhood he will have a reference to its age.

I'm a little late- call might already be completed.

When I was learning to call at a young age, my brother and I fought over my dad's calls that took the least air to blow. It makes a world of difference for a young kid. A slightly shorter tone channel (maybe go to 7/32 diameter) and exhaust bored out very little would be my first thoughts as well as a short barrel usually help.
