First Turkey Call and Question...

First Turkey call.  I like it.  Red Oak Burl with a birds eye maple striker.

Was thinking i would soak the top of the striker in recently used coffee grounds to stain it a bit.  Has anyone done this with any success?

Try medium brown shoe dye. It will not raise the wood grain.
