Blo finish

I did a blo finish on a maple pot let it soak for several hrs and noticed the next day it is weeping out.. is this common and if so how long does it normally do this and does it effect the glue up ? Thanks for any info

I recently placed a cherry insert in a spar, tung and turpentine mix, thought it would be interesting to then place in pressure pot. It weeped for two weeks. But, it sure did penetrate.

Yes it will weep and takes a very long time to dry. Weeks and weeks maybe.  Next time try 'teak oil" by Watco available at Lowes. Follow the directions on the can. Dries in 24 hrs.

FYI: after you do the teak oil soak and dry you can top coat the back and sides with Tru Oil gunstock finish to get a glossy finish.
 You can also buff the teak oil finish to bring up a gloss. In that case a second dip /dry cycle also helps.
