? on changing the tone channel length in a insert?

i drill my tone board on the lathe before i cut the insert. whats the best way to extend it if it needs it after it been cut? ive just been using a drill and sometimes it runs off center when the original is  one channel is perfect.

I just use a dremel to extend the length of my tonechannel.

Like James, I'll extend it with a dremel and proper burr. I only do this on prototypes however, as I can make them run well, but they don't look as 'finished' when I do them like this.
There's a duck call in that block of wood. I just have to find it!
