Need New Photo Hosting Solution
« on: August 17, 2017, 08:54:26 AM »
I need a new photo hosting solution.

Don't know if anyone else got the same email, but photobucket has essentially stated I cannot do cross posting, or posting of photobucket photos on forums without paying a ridiculous fee.

What is everyone using (besides photobucket?)
There's a duck call in that block of wood. I just have to find it!

X2!  It is way easier than Photobucket.  Choose the BBCode full linked option and hover over the window to clip copy.

Remember, if you have your own website, you can also use that.  I see a lot of people with their own website that uses other image hosting sites, and I never quite understood why - since they already had a webserver hosting their site, they could just put their pics there too and always have control of them.  [edit:  well as much control over them as you can have when the photo is posted publicly on the internet anywhere]

Those that dont have a website, then it makes perfect sense...  but might be another good reason to have one.

Thanks much for the idea.

Test below.... big question is how long it will stay at that address? And, with a 16mb limit, you've got to use very small pics.

Is there a way to link to images in Google Photos?  I've tried but haven't found a way yet.

I checked out the ImgBB link provided in an earlier response.  But, it doesn't seem to have an app associated with it.  I take all my pics with my phone so looking for a phone-friendly app/site.

Using google the only thing I can come up with is a hyperlink.

The instructions from your iphone are

1. Open Google photo in Google Drive
2. Go to the three dot icon
3. Select Add people
4. Below who has access select the lock icon
5. Turn Link Sharing on
6. Return to the picture and select the three dot icon
7. Select Get link
8. Paste Link

Thanks, Todd.  I'd like to find a way to link directly to the image so that the image shows in the forum rather than a link.  But, if I can't find another option, I may have to go with just posting a Google link.  The search continues...
