photo bucket error message?
« on: July 26, 2017, 08:54:43 PM »
I am unable to view a lot of the photos on here now because they say I need to upgrade my photobucket account to allow third party sharing.... is this something that the THO staff needs to upgrade or am I supposed to do it on my own? I went to photobucket and they want money for the upgrade.

Photobucket changed their policy in regards to the "Free account" users.  Now everyone has to pay $399.00/year if you want to post pictures to other sites.  In the meantime, all of the photos that were posted cannot be viewed anymore.  Basically they are holding everyone's photo hostage.  Most people are dumping Photobucket and using other photo hosting sites. Ex Flickr, or Imgur.

Wow that sucks. If I switch to a different photo sharing site will I be able to view them? It's to bad because there are a lot of great pics on this site.

A lot of the forums are now using:
http://imgbb.com/

Only the original topic author can see his photo's on photobucket, under his account, unless he/she pays the 3rd party hosting fee.

i know its old, but so am I and I was getting tired of seeing this photobucket pic on posts that I was reading.

If you are also, you can fix it by googling "photobucket embed fix chrome (if you use Chrome browser).  I use the first link on both laptops and add the extension, poof, no more missing pics on old posts.

Hope it helps someone else,

Lon, I wasn't posting about how to put photo's on the site.  Nice link by the way.  Rather my post was regarding the missing photos.  By doing the embed fix, you get all the images back that the 3rd party hosting debacle screwed up.

thanks for the link though,
