Different Lathe Tool Organization
« on: February 16, 2017, 05:32:54 PM »
Have never liked the way I had organized my lathe tools. Even had a few through the years roll/slide off the bench and zap me in the foot.

My shop is tight, so I had to use the space I had efficiently. I saw another turner use PVC pipe to make a different style of tool organizer, so I thought I could possibly use the same, but had to figure out where.

I then realized the wire shelving over my bench was a perfect opportunity to hang the lathe tools from. I bought a 10ft section of thin wall PVC 1.5" and cut it into 1ft sections. I zip tied it on both ends to my wire shelving over the bench. There are two sections. The section is the tools I use most often and they are over my right hand (I'm mostly right handed). Total cost of the project was less than $10.

There's a duck call in that block of wood. I just have to find it!

Great idea.  I've got to work on my shop organization one of these years...
